Teresa
Haggins:
"Shadow
Yoga & The Dance of Shiva"
Coming Soon!
"Dance
of Shiva"
"Shadow Yoga: Balakrama"
"Shadow Yoga Technique"
The teaching of Shadow
Yoga is based upon ancient Hatha Yoga Texts.
Focusing on the development of the energetic body Shadow
Yoga is guided by the Marmastana (Indian
system of 108 vital energy junctions), infused with Kalarippayattu
(South Indian Martial Art) & Bharatanatyam
Classical Indian Dance.
Nata Yoga is the expression of Lord Shiva's
eternal dance, often referred to as the Shiva Tandava or
Shiva's vigorous dance which is the source of the cycle
of creation, preservation and dissolution. According to
the Puranas, Shiva dances a wild and vigorous (tandava)
dance in the cremation grounds at night but dances a soft
and graceful (lasya) dance in the tranquillity of the
twilight.
Teresa Haggins is a
lifelong practitioner of the eastern arts and a has
studied extensively with Shandor Remete, Shadow Yoga's
founder.For information...http://www.shadowyoga.com/

YBR Instructor extraordinaire, in from Yamuna's Studio in NYC!

The poses will be sequenced to take you into
your core strength and vitality, beginning at the periphery with
the hands and feet and systematically working deeper and deeper
into the vibrant strength of the spine. You will learn how the
bandhas (yoga muscular locks), are used to access and free the
spine, and how their use can introduce unprecedented strength

Do your non-yoga friends look at your yoga
books and laugh at some of the pictures? Do your parents despair
that your mind has been taken over by some cult devoted to
strange twisting acrobatics with an unseemly interest in eating
vegetables? Do you awake from dreams of doing asanas that are
blatantly impossible or which you know you are not yet able to
do? It's clear - you're either an alien or a weird creature and
this preposterous class is exactly the sort of practice you need
right now! Weird inversions, bizarre looking adaptations of
traditional postures, vinyasas that belong in an early episode
of Star Trek - and all of it incredibly beautiful!
