"Within the city of Brahmin, which is the body, there is a heart, & within the heart there is a little house. This house has the shape of a lotus & within it dwells that which is to be sought after, inquired about & realized. Even so large as the universe outside is the universe within the lotus of the heart. Within it are heaven & earth, the sun, moon, the lightening & all the stars.

"Kinesthetic Learning is a teaching and learning style in which learning takes place by the student actually carrying out a physical activity, rather than listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration. Students with this predominant learning style are natural discovery learners; they have realizations through doing, as opposed to having thought first before initiating action."

Laura combines kinesthetic anatomy in clay and its application in yoga postures so you can practice and teach yoga with more confidence and self-knowledge of anatomical relationships and biomechanics of the postures. This dynamic approach teaches both a structural and functional understanding of the human body. Laura will combine movement, imagery, yoga postures in addition to working with the clay, to enhance your knowledge and experience of anatomy. This 3 dimensional view of the body will help solidify your understanding of anatomy. These workshops will use the Zoologik System of Kinesthetic Anatomy in Clay as developed by Jon Zahourek. This dynamic approach teaches both a structural and functional understanding of the human body.
EXCELLENT TRAINING FOR: Teachers of Yoga, Yoga Teachers in training, Pilates Instructors, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists and other Somatic Professionals with a Yoga Practice. Full 12 hours CEU credits in anatomy and physiology. Recognized by the Yoga Alliance (YA). ALSO GREAT FOR: yoga teachers and students who are interested in deepening their knowledge of the human body.
These classes are designed as an experiential study of human anatomy. Each student will build musculature in clay from deep to superficial with an emphasis on understanding function through structure. Fascinating and fun. Each day will include a yoga practice class that will emphasis the anatomical part we are studying. We will build the anatomy in clay building and discuss the anatomy as it relates to the postures, common injuries and ways to prevent them.
