What
is Fair Trade?
All goods in our store are handmade in cooperatives &
artisan families locally (whenever possible), and from around
the world! Our partners are committed to providing fair wages,
healthy working conditions, environmentally sustainable
production and good employment opportunities to economically
disadvantaged communities. In addition, a portion of the profits
goes back to support these communities. Fair Trade means that
our products meet the highest standards of both quality and
social responsibility.

Flavour of Change
Founded and run
by Kim Hancock (Richard Stockton College graduate) and
Annemarie, Flavour of Change believes in a different
approach to business. One driven by good rather than
greed. One that sees trade as an agent of change in the
world. As such, they are committed to returning 100% of
their net profits to the region where the products are
crafted, currently South Africa. These funds are being
used to build hope for the future, in areas where the
ending Apartheid has not ended poverty. The Flavour of
Change is partnering with local agencies to provide meal
programs and address the most pressing needs for the
children of the poorest townships. Buddha
Body Store carries many of the unique
handicrafts supported by Flavour of Change. For more
information about Flavour of Change, and their mission,

Peacework
Richard Stockton College
students working on service projects in Belize under the
direction of Professor Patrick Hossay have expanded
their efforts to impact the community by bringing the
work of artisans in the communities they serve to the Buddha
Body store. Currently, they are producing
specially made YOGA MAT BAGS for our studio from
RECYCLED FLOUR BAGS & BLUE JEANS (each one is
unique). Proceeds from the sale of these
items support these artisans and allow them to
distribute their goods to a larger market at no cost to
them, For more information on their ecological mission

The garment industry is
infamous for paying low wages, but not American Apparel.

US manufacturers of clothing have moved abroad, American
Apparel remains committed to "Sweatshop Free"
Clothing. All of the clothing with the Yoga Nine & Buddha
Body logo are sweatshop free. For more
