The goal of Yoga For The Higher Powered (tm) is to reach as many twelve steppers as possible, and to continue to speak their language in order to introduce them to meditation through yoga. This system will strengthen their recovery and provide a new venue for them to share their recoveries in a safe and fun environment.

YOGA FOR THE HIGHER POWERED is an introduction to yoga applications for the treatment of
anxiety, depression, and
recovery from addiction. It offers a unique & accessible way for members of any 12 step program to learn how to meditate in moving and
stillness. Yoga is the meditation of the body & it is intended to lead to the meditation of the mind. Our soft & gentle yoga program creatively blends the worlds of yoga & recovery by speaking the language of recovery. This 2 hour workshop is
suitable for those new to yoga & for those who have been practicing it for many years. During this time, we will be covering:
|
| - |
Scientific research studies that prove how meditation can more than double one's chances of remaining sober & how it changes the brainwaves & in turn changes the way you think. |
| - |
The importance of breath for those recovering from addictions and those that have been affected by it. |
| - |
Exactly how to achieve meditation. |
| - |
Poses specific to depression, anxiety, ADHD & compulsive thinking. |
| - |
A fun, new yoga meeting that includes the new names of our yoga poses that will now "make sense" |
